Hints + Tips

On 14 February 2005 the Land Registry changed the format of dates appearing in the property register to a numeric format, i.e. “dd.mm.yyyy”. The dates now appear in brackets at the beginning of certain entries in the register.

However, dates that appear within entries in the A, B and C sections of the property Register will remain in the full format.

The Land Registry have made this change to help them to more fully comply with their obligations under the Welsh Language Act 1993. These changes apply only to the Land Registry in England and Wales. The Land Registries of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Eire and the Isle of Man remain unchanged.
