LandSearch have been
able to extend the range of searches for
land registry information for Northern
Ireland and speed up those in the Republic
of Ireland. These new land registry searches
will enable interested parties to access
information that was unattainable on line
previously. In many cases in the Republic
of Ireland this will allow a 24 hour turnaround
during the working week rather than the
slower prolonged postal service that existed
up until now. |

The new searches for Northern
Ireland are firstly the Properties Owned Search
(NIR8). This is a land registry search for a list
of properties owned by an individual or organisation
in a specified county. There is an option to purchase
the folios and plans of any such properties found.
A separate search must be made for each county.

The second is a History Search
(NIR9). This search provides a copy of the current
folio and the names and addresses of previous
owners of the property since it became registered.
If they were owners of the same address but
with a different title number the search will
also include a copy of the folio for one other
prior title. It also includes the title plan
for each registered title.

The improvements in the Republic of Ireland
searches mean that land and properties can now
be searched by address. Previously it has only
been possible to search by name. These searches
could take up to 5 days previously and now most
will be able to be completed in 24hours during
the working week.
