There are 2 types of
Bankruptcy Searches in England & Wales,
namely Bankrutpcy Only searches and Official
Searches. |
| |
A Bankruptcy Only search
discloses bankruptcy orders made within the past
5 years against the names being searched and
pending applications for bankruptcy. A search
can be made against an individual or a company |
| |
There is an option to obtain
copies of the applications leading to the registration
of any bankruptcy orders or pending applications. |
| |
An Official Search is
based on a specific county and for a specified
number of years (which does not have to be during
the last 5 years). It reveals whether a bankruptcy
order or application was made at any time during
the specified period in the named county in respect
of the name searched. |
| |
| Therefore, for current information a Bankruptcy
search should be submitted and for more dated information
an Official search should be submitted. |
| |
| We can also obtain detailed Insolvency records
against limited companies, dating back from the
date of their incorporation. |
| |
| In Scotland there is just the one type of search,
which is called an Inhibitions search. |
